Metro is the quickest and the most comfortable means of transport in Prague. It was launched in 1974 and nowadays you can use its three different lines (A, B, and C). The metro is operated from 5 a.m. till midnight. All the lines go through the city centre, where most of the hotels are situated.
• The line A is the most conveniant for sightseers, as it links the biggest places of interest. Two major hotel localities can be found on the route A: Dejvice hotels (station Dejvicka, situated north of the Castle area); Vinohrady hotels (station Nam. Miru, east of the New Town).
• Hotel localities on the B line: Smichov hotels (station Andel, west of the centre on the opposite bank of the Vltava); Karlin hotels (stations Florenc & Krizikova, east of the centre); Vysocany hotels (northeast of the centre, near the Sazka Arena).
• Hotel localities on the C line: Holesovice hotels (stations Vltavska & Nadr. Holesovice, north of the centre, near the Exhibition Grounds); Vysehrad & Nusle hotels (station Vysehrad, south of the centre).
These are only the major hotel locations outside the centre - you can find many other particular hotels scattered along the metro routes.
