Prague 2 is a historic area on the right river bank second only to Prague 1. It covers the larger portion of Nove Mesto (New Town) founded by King Charles IV in the mid 14th century, all area of Vysehrad (legendary Czech castle, now national memorial), the historical areas of Vinohrady and a tiny bit of Nusle.
Hotels in Prague 2 are a dream option for lovers of art nouveau architecture. Prague 2 is beset with huge marvellous villas – many of them have been converted into hotels. One of the prime Prague locations is Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske namesti) , consided also the hottest place for a hotel. Similarly to Prague 1, there may be shortage of parking spaces, occassional noise, but you may be sure that you will stay in the middle of it all (northern half of Prague 1) or in walking distance (southern half).
