Zbraslav is located on the southern outskirts of the city on the left bank of the Vltava River and belongs to the administrative district Prague 16. At the end of the 13th century a Cistercian monastery (“Aula Regia“) was founded here, which was intended to serve as the burial place of the late Premyslids. In the 18th century it was rebuilt in the baroque style by famous architect J. Santini-Aichl. Nowadays it houses the collection of Asian art and an exhibition of Islamic art of the National Gallery. On the opposite side of the river can be found another important attraction – the Celtic fortified settlement (so-called “oppidum“) Hradiste nad Zavisti, with the total area of 170ha the largest one in Bohemia. Drivers can have a stop in Zbraslav hotels, as the quarter lies by the road R4 to the southern Bohemia. Several hotels are on disposal here, so you shouldn’t have difficulties, when looking for accommodation.
