Unlike the neighbouring Zizkov, Vinohrady has been inhabited mostly by wealthy people, who built their villas here from the end of the 19th century. Its name reminds of growing vine, which was introduced here by the Emperor Charles IV. You can easily reach it both from Old and New Town and also from the Main Railway Station. Underground Line A goes through this district. The number of hotels is rather high, so you are not likely to have problems when looking for accomodation.
