Liben lies on the right bank of the Vltava, north of Karlin and Zizkov districts. In 1942 the German Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich, who introduced “the final solution of Jewish question in Europe”, was assasinated here and despite immediate treatment in nearby hospital Na Bulovce died. The most interesting sight is a rococo castle, the former residence of Prague mayors. It is accessible by underground (Line B, Stations: Palmovka and Ceskomoravska). Hotels are concentrated in the eastern part of the quarter, alternatively you can find a hotel in the neighbouring Karlin.
