Three cultures were forming Prague throughout its history. Besides Czechs and Germans it was also Jews who left an important trace here. However, the relations towards them were for a long time full of prejudice – until the middle of the 19th century they lived within a ghetto adjoining the Old Town in northwestern direction. In the end of the 19th century the ghetto was demolished due to bad hygiene conditions but the main synagogues and the old Jewish cemetery remained preserved. There are not many hotels in this quarter, alternatively you can choose a hotel in the adjacent Old Town.
